Like many people, I was skeptical regarding the benefits of therapy, but through my own therapeutic experience, I learned how rewarding it is. Thus, what led me to my journey as a therapist. As a clinician, I thrive to be a portal/vessel that helps my clients reconcile their concerns and grow during the therapeutic process. Part of this process is holding a safe, confidential, and comfortable space where the client can release their thoughts without any concerns of being judge by someone; but to the contrary, I am there to help you organize those thoughts and concerns.
My belief is that change is ever constant and happens around us even when we believe things are static. Many people get stuck in a typical step by step life that follows the same order and there are some of us who may even be afraid to go in a different direction. As a clinician, I challenge my clients to attempt a different way of approaching things, by utilizing different therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness techniques.
Through my own personal therapeutic journey, I realized that the field was lacking my specific demographic and that is what initially drove me to become a therapist. It is my hope that clients from underrepresented and under-served communities will see someone from their community and feel comfortable with starting their own therapeutic process. Reconnect MFC has a similar philosophy of working in communities that may lack access to therapeutic resources in a private practice format.
Currently, I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working at Reconnect Marriage and Family. I am being supervised by Maral Malekian, LMFT#52815.
