Jordan

Greetings Folks! My name is Jordan Le Blanc, and I am a Therapist with Reconnect Marriage and Family Counseling. I identify as Gay Black Male Therapist who has worked with individuals, couples, and families for over five years. I believe in the power and potential of therapy, not just because of my educational and professional experience but because as a Black-Gay Male I have had my own personal therapeutic journey as a Client.

My Story

I understand the discomfort and ambivalence that comes with initiating and working through the therapeutic process and journey from firsthand experience. I work with clients who identify as people who are BIPOC or who are of the LGBTQIA+ community. Clients I work with are usually young adults who are in the process of navigating life transitions: intimate relationships, career changes, working through issues around identity or even working through past traumas. I know juggling all of these aspects of the human experience can be challenging or even overwhelming. My goal is to create and hold a safe space for clients to help not only normalize their feelings, but also help them sort through them. In sorting through the feelings and experiences help find clarity and understanding.

I feel therapy is not just for the individuals in crisis but also for those who may need some support navigating the trials, tribulations, and transitions in life. Therefore, my approach to providing therapy is meeting the client where they are, in that I aim to learn about not only what brings them to therapy but also their strengths. I have a knack for identifying strengths that clients have. In addition, I recognize that small changes and consistency can make lasting changes and growth. Clients I work with are usually young adults who are in the process of navigating life transitions and I do this by working collaboratively with clients to help them meet the goals that they have for themselves.

I use a couple of different modalities, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic, which focus on how our thoughts become feelings, leading to our actions. I also work with individuals in processing their trauma, utilizing developmental stages to help clients process their lived experiences. Processing our lived experiences and traumas in therapy can lead to healing, growth, clarity, or even breakthroughs. I am also a firm advocate in creating space for selfcare and joyful resistance, I often hold clients accountable to also find and experience joy within this journey. Like, many new things in life, therapy is a process and requires work inside and outside of the session.

If you feel that anything I have said may resonate with you, please feel free to connect with me so that we can set a consultation session to further discuss next steps. I look forward to hearing from you.
